Head softball coach wins 200 games
Last week at the softball doubleheader against Guilford College Coach, Kim Scavone won her 200th game at Meredith College.
“Winning at home was really special,” Scavone said. “We have missed out on so many things the last two seasons, so it was very nice to have something to celebrate at our field with friends and family.”
When asked who she wanted to thank, Scavone responded, “I have been so blessed to work with amazing student-athletes every year of my career. Sarah Watson and Bryce Smith were a part of the program for most of our wins as student-athletes and have continued as assistant coaches. We are so lucky to have them and I am so grateful for their loyalty, commitment and the work they put in each day to help our team succeed.”
“Meredith College has been a part of my family since my children were born,” Scavone added. “It takes a while to get to a coaching win milestone and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work at this wonderful school as long as I have. I am so thankful for [Athletic Director] Jackie Myers’s leadership, the other talented coaches in our department who I learn from each year and my family who loves this program as much as I do.”
