Oct. 11: Golf match at SVU Knights Invitational
After the first day of the competition, the golf team sits in fifth place with 92-over 380. Graduate student Monika Vicario is in third place after day one with a two-over 74. Jenna Cirillo sits in 22nd place with a 25-over 97 with three pars. Molly Surles is tied for 24th with 28-over 100. Leah Campbell has +37 rounds of 109.
Oct. 12: Golf match at SVU Knights Invitational
Meredith finished fifth in the 36-hole tournament with a +177 over 753. Monika Vicario tied for third place with a three-over par 147. Molly Surles finished 24th with 56-over par 200 in 100 rounds. Jenna Cirillo finished 25th with a 57-over 204. Leah Campbell scored 61-over 207.
Oct. 12: Soccer game against Pfeiffer University
The soccer team won their game against Pfeiffer University with a final score of 1-0. Morgan Thomas scored the winning goal and had three shots and one shot on goal. Freshman Meredith Warrick had four shots, two shots on goal and one assist. Claire-Emma Britt and senior Lilly Fox had four shots each. Charlotte Ward had shot shots and one shot on goal. Rachel Johnson had one shot and one shot on goal. Abby Black had one shot. Senior Miranda Lutz was the goalie for this game.
Oct. 13: Volleyball game against Methodist University
The volleyball team won their game against Methodist University with a final score of 3-0. Senior Whitney Bolton had 24 total attempts, ten kills, one dig and three block assists. Senior Avery Bowman had 22 total attempts, eight kills, 11 digs and one block solo. Hailey Long had 21 total attempts and seven kills. Freshman Madelyn Clark had 20 total attempts, seven kills and three digs. Lauren Bissette had 17 total attempts, seven kills, three digs and two block solos. Freshman Sara Dees had 11 total attempts, four kills, two digs, one block solo and three block assists. Senior Bailey Lucas had four total attempts, two kills and seven digs. Senior Lauren Phillips had one total attempt and nine digs. Hannah Jo Jablonski had 11 digs. Freshman Emily Emerson had three digs.
Oct. 14: Field hockey game against Washington and Lee University
The field hockey team lost their game against Washington and Lee, ranked No. 14 and so far undefeated, with a final score of 0-10. Goalkeeper Shae-Lynn Henderson, ‘25, made 36 saves during the game. The game was dedicated to Morgan’s Message, an organization that advocates for student-athlete mental health and seeks to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health.
Oct. 15: Cross country meet at ECU Pirate Invitational
The cross country team competed in Greenville over the weekend in the ECU Pirate Invitational and placed eighth out of 12 teams. This was the team’s first 6k of the season. Andrea Gallegos finished with a time of 25:23.96. Isabella Saudo finished with a time of 26:34.18. Ashleigh Buser finished with a time of 26:36.43. Kaylee Spencer finished with a time of 26:39.48. Emily Ward finished with a time of 28:47.84. Claire Miller finished with a time of 29:10.84. Emma Brooks finished with a time of 30:57.14. Senior Mitxi Ortiz finished with a time of 34:42.01. Freshman Keerthi Tammineni finished with a time of 35:07.26. Mia Russell finished with a time of 37:53.87. The cross country team’s next meet is the USA South XC Championship on Oct. 30.
Oct. 15: Soccer game against Mary Baldwin University
The soccer team won their game against Mary Baldwin University with a final score of 2-1. Morgan Thomas had four shots, four shots on goal and scored one of the winning goals. Meredith Warrick had three shots, one shot on goal and scored the other winning goal. Claire-Emma Britt had one shot and one assist. Lilly Fox had one shot. Miranda Lutz was the goalie for this game and had seven shots on goal and six saves. Soccer is set to play against Methodist University on Oct. 20 for their next game.
Oct. 16: Field hockey game against Sewanee University
The field hockey team lost their game against Sewanee University with a final score of 0-8. Shae-Lynn Henderson made 26 saves during the game. She is currently ranked No. 1 goalie with the most saves per game nationwide in the NCAA Division 3, with stats updated through Oct. 14 and putting her at 23.67 saves per game. Field hockey’s next game is Oct. 21 against Southern Virginia University.

The volleyball team won their game against Southern Virginia University with a final score of 3-1. Whitney Bolton had 26 total attempts, 11 kills and one dig. Avery Bowman had 19 total attempts, eight kills, six digs and two block assists. Lauren Bissette had 15 total attempts, nine kills, two digs, one block solo and two block assists. Hailey Long had 15 total attempts, one kill, three digs and one block assist. Sara Dees had 14 total attempts, five kills, four digs and one block assist. Madelyn Clark had 14 total attempts, five kills and one dig. Bailey Lucas had one attempt, one kill and two digs. Hannah Jo Jablonski had one attempt and two digs.
